Broader application domain for RIONED working method
The Validation and Innovation Point Asbestos (VIP) has issued positive advice on the expansion of the application domain of the RIONED working method. This concerns expansion of the previously validated working method included in SMA-rt for the removal of parts of the public sewer system in which joint sealant containing asbestos can be found. The request for expansion relates to the percentage of asbestos present in joint sealant containing asbestos, being a maximum of 10% serpentine asbestos and/or a maximum of 10% amphibole asbestos, with a total maximum asbestos content of 15% (instead of a maximum of 10% chrysotile asbestos and 2% amphibole asbestos).
The Ministry has asked Ascert (the SMA-rt manager) to make this change in SMA-rt.
